Nashville, Tenn. (Feb. 23, 2012) - Four-time Grammy Award-winning producer, songwriter and recording artist John Elefante, well-known for his role as frontman for the legendary multi-platinum selling rock band Kansas, as well as for his own solo career, has initiated Phase Two of his Kickstarter campaign to complete production of his new solo project, Come Alive.
Elefante knows a thing or two about making records, and setting records. Since leaving Kansas, he has produced or performed on more than 100 projects, including such classics as the original movie soundtrack for St. Elmo's Fire, Petra's Dove Award-winning Beyond Belief, and Stronger by the then-emerging artist Natalie Grant.
Elefante, with his fans, raised more than $35,000 in pledges to meet the Phase One goal for Come Alive. "It has really touched my heart in a big way to see how many fans have rallied behind this campaign," says Elefante. "We have met our initial goal for Phase One, which is a huge stepping stone to help pay for such expenses as recording costs, production costs, post-production and studio time. Phase One is now in the rear view mirror, but there are still costs involved for CD design, artwork, printing, graphics and manufacturing. It all takes quite a bit of money, which is why we are initiating Phase Two of our Come Alive Kickstarter project."
Phase Two of the Come Alive Kickstarter project continues through Friday, March 23. Fans can visit kickstarter.com where they can pledge as little as $1, but there are some great rewards for pledges of at least $15, including advanced digital downloads of the new album before it is released. Higher level pledges may receive limited-edition posters, T-shirts, signed memorabilia, or even a personal phone call from John, himself, just to say thank you for the support.
In keeping with his desire to more fully connect with fans, Elefante has announced a Live Stream interactive event where he will take questions from fans and answer them live on camera. The event is scheduled for today at 8 p.m. CST. Fans can participate by going to johnelefante.com.
Elefante expects the final project to release to the public in September. For more information about Kickstarter or the Come Alive project, go to johnelefante.com.
About Kickstarter:
Hundreds of individuals have raised capital through the Kickstarter business model, including Christian musicians Shaun Groves, John Schlitt and Cheri Keaggy, who, in 2011, raised the funds for the CDs they have recently recorded. The upcoming film adaptation of Donald Miller's Blue Like Jazz received $345,992 (276% of its original goal) from more than 4,495 donors through Kickstarter to make it the largest crowd-funded film in history, according to Paste Magazine and Kickstarter's website.
About John Elefante:

His career exploded internationally when he auditioned for and won the role of new lead singer and keyboardist for super-group, Kansas, in 1981.
